Who Needs Deadwood?

Follow the adventures of the Wild West’s biggest legends when “The Young Riders: Season 1” debuts on DVD March 21st from MGM and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Starring Stephen Baldwin and Josh Brolin, “The Young Riders: Season 1,” this 5-Disc boxed set will include all 24 hour-long episodes from the first season in their original broadcast format.

Set just before the American Civil War, “The Young Riders” presented a highly fictionalized account of the heyday of the Pony Express. The 1989 series focuses on a group of young Express riders based at a waystation in Sweetwater, Kansas.

Running the station is ex-Texas Ranger and all-around eccentric, Teaspoon Hunter, along with Emma, the Station’s cook, housekeeper and mother hen.

The riders included the future western legends William “Buffalo Bill” Cody (Baldwin) and James Butler “Wild Bill” Hickok (Brolin), as well as Ike (Travis Fine), a mute, Buck (Gregg Rainwater), a half-White/half-Kiowa scout and “The Kid” (Ty Miller), a quiet Southerner.

Rounding out the all-male group of riders is Lou (Yvonne Suhor), a young woman living and working with the riders disguised as a boy.

Guest stars during the First Season included Cynthia Nixon, Chris Penn, Fisher Stevens , Robin Strasser and Ted Shackelford .

The show will be presented in full screen format (1.33:1) with audio in English (Stereo).

SRP will be $59.95, but we expect this to be discounted to about $42.00.
